Quality Development of Community schools: Measuring the Impact of International Standards

Implementation Period: 2009 – 2010

Project Goal: improve the quality of the community schools in the countries of Eastern, Central, South East Europe, Western Europe, Russia and Asia through implementing the International Standards for Community Schools:  Self- Assessment Tool and measuring their impact on the community school development.

Project Objectives:

1. Provide International Standards for Community Schools: self-assessment tool and strategic support to country coordinators where community schools have already been developed so that they can improve the quality of the community schools in their own countries.

2. Evaluate the impact of the International Standards for Community Schools (Self- Assessment Tool) on the quality of the community schools and community development.

Target Groups: community schools in the UK, Moldova, Ukraine, Russia, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Czech Republic and Kazakhstan.

Project Activities

  • Conducting in-countries`/regional training for trainers/facilitators on the International Standards for Community Schools: Self- Assessment Tool;
  • Conducting the self-assessment process in a minimum of 80 community schools;
  • Developing Community School Improvement Plans (CSIP) based on the results of the self-assessment process;
  • Providing advice and guidance to the schools implementing their Community Schools` Improvement Plans (CSIPs).
